Alex Kordek is a Film and Drama Graduate, who moved to London in 2003 to pursue his ambition to become a professional dancer. A self - taught performer he trained at 'open' classes at the prestigious Pineapple Dance Studios, The Place, and Danceworks; his dance styles include Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, 'Locking and Popping' and Break Dancing.
Alex's drive, dedication and passion for dance enabled him to secure professional dance work early on in his career (notable credits: BBC television appearances, Music Video appearances, and Ministry of Sound).
In 2005, Alex took his dancing skills to the next level. He pioneered teaching Street Dance in gyms in central London. This was a particularly innovative decision, because Street Dance classes were not previously available in gyms at this time. Alex realised the potential for incorporating urban/non traditional dance styles in a fun way for the general public. He quickly established his unique brand of teaching dance at LA Fitness (Piccadilly), Esporta (Islington) and Virgin Active (Oxford Street). His classes rapidly became successful, where he built up a loyal client base and established Street Dance as a regular activity in gyms.
Alex also trained with Nike and became a qualified Nike Rockstar Instructor where he taught one of the largest classes for Virgin Active.
Not content to rest on his laurels, Alex decided to diversify into modelling. He soon discovered that he had natural ability in front of the camera and worked for many big advertising brands, such as T-Mobile, GAME, and NYC Major League Baseball.
Ever the initiator, Alex decided to launch his own modelling career. He travelled and worked with various international agencies, expanding his horizons into the fashion world, modelling for Yves Saint Laurent, Harvey Nichols, Nautica, and many more high fashion labels.
2010 sees the launch of AJK clothing, with the brand going from strength to strength. A new online shop will follow later on in the year.
